Pogo Coffee Roastery’s café located in the WOTSO Workspace building facing Ifould Street opened in March last year by Fraser Monfries’ who earned his roasting stripes at Hark and then Sublime. He’s created a fun and vibrant destination, just like his coffee. Roasted on AIR! Pogo Coffee’s Bounce uses an alternative and innovative technology, with beans being suspended in a ‘fluid bed’ by perfectly controlled hot air, to roast beans consistently to their sweet spot. The result is in favour! Home baristas will love this. A consistent roasted bean that can reach darker flavour profiles with body for days, coffee that cuts through milk with ease while still delivering a very clean cup when enjoyed black. Pogo’s Bounce will certainly lift your home coffee game and have you jumping with joy.
Kahawa means coffee in Swahili and is the first blend of single-origin beans from this speciality roaster whose commitment to ‘doing good’ have set standards that all roasters and businesses aspire to. Breaking down barriers to employ asylum seekers and refugees to the long term local unemployed since 2016, Soul City Roasters reputation for creating new beginnings is as famous as their reputation for roasting top coffee beans and blends. This full-bodied espresso blend cup is brimming with chocolate and almond notes pack a full punch – fans also love it as a cold brew.
Coffee roasted fresh on the Fleurieu Coast situated 45 minutes south of Adelaide. Goodness Coffee Co is surrounded by incredible coastline and rugged hills, with earthy townships within their folds. The region is considered Adelaide’s playground, and locals love to frequent Goodness Coffee Co’s café and roastery nestled in Aldinga hugging 3km of beachfront. Their heritage listed 1820’s roastery was once the workshop of a local mechanic, coach builder and undertaker, but these walls are now filled with the goodness of a Goodness house blend coffee, roasted amidst the fresh sea air. We’re so excited to be delivering what local coffee lovers like @bookspluscaffeine consider a slice of Aussie paradise. This blend combines beans from South America and Central Africa to create balanced notes of sweet fruits and nuts with a pleasant chocolate finish. Delicious either an espresso or filter says @bookspluscaffeine.
Some businesses really are all in the name. Based in Mount Gambier, South East of South Australia; Marcos, his wife (Molly), and daughters (Tilley & Emanuella) really know their bean. Their coffee journey began a few years ago when Marcos came to Australia on an agricultural exchange from Espírito Santo State in Brazil. With a degree in Agronomy, and coffee in his blood growing up in Vila Valério, Espírito Santo (one of the biggest coffee growing regions), Marcos fell in love with Australian coffee culture. Together with his wife, they source speciality coffee direct from small coffee farms which use selective picking methods to ensure it’s high quality, and generally, all of the work is done by 3rd generation family farm owners, by hand. When it comes to roasting there is always something to learn, says Marcos, with a focus on achieving perfection with every roast. La, la, la let’s Samba to that!
