1kg Coffee | Commonfolk – Home Baristas Awarded Gold Medalist
$65.00
As Broadsheet proclaims – nobody comes to Commonfolk by accident. Locals and visitors purposefully flock to the backstreets of Mornington for this roastery’s beans and brews, usually accompanied by lunch or brunch. Owner Sam Keck chose their industrial space because it was large enough to both roast and serve coffee focused on seasonality and quality of origin. This single origin Kirura hails from the highlands of Kiambu country in Kenya and seduces its loyal following with its unique combination notes of boysenberry, mango and lavender. The beans from these farms co-op are regularly a finalist in the top 10 Taste of Harvest competitions. Only the ripe cherry is picked in the morning, it is then transported to the wet mill where it is pulped and fermented in tanks of fresh water from the Gatamaiyu river before the drying process on raised beds.
